Under Article 45 of the CLP Regulation, Member States must appoint a body or bodies responsible for receiving information relating to emergency health response. This information should include the chemical composition of mixtures placed on the market and classified as hazardous on the basis of their health or physical effects. The Beaumont Hospital Board has been appointed for this purpose and this task is carried out by the National Poisons Information Centre (NPIC) which is based in Beaumont Hospital.
The Detergents Regulation stipulates that manufacturers must, on request, make available to member state competent authorities, without delay and free of charge, an ingredient datasheet as stipulated in Annex VII C of the Regulation. Beaumont Hospital Board is the competent authority for this purpose and this function has been assigned to the National Poisons Information Centre.
