What products should be notified to the National Poisons Information Centre (NPIC)?

All products that are defined as "hazardous chemical products" as per Regulation (EU) 1272/2008. 

What information is required by the NPIC?

Complete requirements are set out on the NPIC Product Registration Form. Information should include:

  • a list of ingredients
  • registered use of the product
  • toxicological information
  • physico-chemical information
  • Symptoms and signs of poisoning

 

Where is the notifcation sent to?

Notification is sent to the National Poisons Information Centre, Beaumont Hospital by emailing the NPIC Product Registration Forms to chemicalsinfo@beaumont.ie. Due to security restrictions within Beaumont Hospital IT department, zip files are not always received. If you are sending a zip file attachment, please send us a second email to notify us of same.
